JLA: Classified #46
The penultimate chapter of "The Ghosts of Mars" arrives in 2008 with a cover by Walter Simonson that puts the Martian Manhunter front and center — a brooding, powerful figure clutching a smaller green form against a rising-sun backdrop, with the assembled Justice League rendered in silhouette behind him. A field of skulls at his feet and the blunt cover tease "Martian Murder!" give the image a genuinely unsettling weight, while "Back in the Day: Family Feud!" hints at deep Martian history pulling at J'onn J'onzz. Justin Gray writes, with interior art from Rick Leonardi and Sean Phillips, making this a solidly crafted installment in one of 2008's more underrated JLA tales.
