The second volume in Glénat's Jimmy van Doren series — subtitled Het web van de dood ("The Web of Death") — sets a thrilling tone right from the cover: a young boy sprints in alarm through a fiery jungle backdrop while an enormous black spider marked with a red X looms menacingly in the foreground. It's a striking visual balance of vulnerability and danger, with Desorgher and Desberg's bold linework making that oversized arachnid genuinely unsettling. A fine 2004 Belgian adventure album that promises pulse-quickening jungle peril for readers of all ages.
