Jesuit Joe #[nn]
Hugo Pratt's bold, minimalist linework is on full display in this 1992 Rizzoli Libri edition, where the cover presents a striking figure — heavily bundled in dark furs, wide-brimmed hat pulled low, bag in hand — striding forward with unmistakable purpose against a spare, teal-tinted background. The stark contrast of black ink against the cool palette gives the image an almost woodcut quality, perfectly evoking the frozen wilderness setting that the title character suggests. A handsome volume from Pratt at the height of his craft, with interior colors by Anne Frognier and Patrizia Zanotti rounding out the creative team.
