Jerry Iger's Golden Features #5
In "The Vengeful Corpse," a 1986 Blackthorne release, fisherman John Penn thinks he’s escaped justice after murdering Silas Barnes for gold—until the body surfaces in his own net. Haunted by the dead man’s ghost and another spectral presence, Penn’s guilt drives him to desperate acts, culminating in a chilling voyage to sea. The story, illustrated by the Iger Shop with inks by the same, blends folk horror and psychological dread in a tale where the past refuses to stay buried.

Fisherman John Penn murders old Silas Barnes for his gold. He dumps the body at sea. Penn panics, however, when the corpse turns up in his fishing net. He murders his crewman Abner, too, because he is eyewitness to the discovery of the body. In the following, Penn is haunted by two ghosts and taken out to sea.
