Volume 22 of Dodier's long-running Belgian series puts the hapless Jerome K. Jerome Bloks in a very tight spot — the cover shows him with both hands raised, wide-eyed with alarm, as two masked, armed figures level automatic weapons directly at him. It's a tense, boldly graphic composition in striking burnt orange that captures the mix of danger and dark humor the series does so well.
