Hermann's beloved post-apocalyptic series opens with this 1979 Franco-Belgian album, "La nuit des rapaces" — Night of the Birds of Prey. The cover, fully rendered by Hermann, thrusts us into a tense jungle scene: a wild-haired, wide-eyed young man dominates the foreground, visibly shaken, while dark birds of prey swarm the green canopy above and a shadowy figure lurks in the background.
