Jennifer Blood: First Blood #2

Issue two of this Dynamite Entertainment miniseries puts Jennifer Blood front and center — clad in black tactical gear and cradling a sniper rifle, she crouches between looming, shadowed tree trunks, scanning upward with an alert, wary expression that suggests the hunter may also be the hunted. Mike Mayhew's cover work renders the scene in moody blues and deep grays, giving the whole image a tense, nocturnal atmosphere that suits a vigilante story titled "Overcoming Inertia" perfectly. With Mike Carroll scripting and Igor Vitorino on interior art, this 2012 series is a solid showcase for Dynamite's action-thriller sensibilities.
