Episode two of this nine-part French series from Futuropolis presents a striking cover by Frédéric Pontarolo: a heavyset man in an ornate white jumpsuit — unmistakably Elvis-inspired — sprawls dramatically across a rocky, shadowy landscape, a large firearm looming ominously in the background above him. Pontarolo's warm, earthy palette and fluid linework give the scene an almost cinematic swagger, blending absurdist humor with genuine tension. At just 4,90 €, James Dieu looks like one of 2006's more intriguing French comics to seek out.
