Mary tries to be friendly to a sad looking boy at The Rambling Tum, but he tells her to shove off. She sees him again on the bus when he is in trouble for not having the fare, but Mary steps in to pay it for him. He apologizes for being rude to her previously and they eventually start dating. But his ex-girlfriend follows him and he tells Mary that he is still in love with her. Now it is Mary who is sitting alone in a coffee bar and when Harry tries to cheer her up, she snaps at him.
