“The Protect March That Knocked Him Out!”

In "The Protect March That Knocked Him Out!", Tony’s quest for a "grade A bird" to impress Lydia takes an unexpected turn when Sandie, clearly hurting after a breakup, asks to use his phone. Though she’s no trophy date, Tony invites her to the party—only to find himself caught between Lydia’s familiar games and Sandie’s quiet sincerity. Jordi Franch Cubells’ expressive art brings the emotional undercurrents to life in this 1968 D.C. Thomson classic.

When Lydia invites Tony to a party, he tries to find a 'grade A bird' to take with him so that Lydia won't take him for granted. After five unsuccessful phone calls, Sandie asks him if she can use the phone. It's clear that Sandie is breaking up with her boyfriend, so even though she isn't a grade A bird, he asks her to come along to Lydia's party. At the party, Tony realizes that Lydia is playing the same old cat-and-mouse game while Sandie is the only one there who doesn't think of love as a game.
