Barry is an electrician who plays in a band in the evenings. Linda's dad warns her that she could get hurt if his group becomes successful. The band gets a chance to tour with a famous group and while on tour, Barry gets a letter from Linda saying she will be having an operation. But the group is also asked to extend their tour by a week and Barry talks himself into staying with the band rather than going back to Linda. When they see each other again, things aren't the same.
