Jörg Buttgereits Captain Berlin #12

Captain Berlin finds himself in a tight spot in issue #12 from Weissblech Comics — the cover by Levin Kurio (pencils) and Rainer F. Engel (inks) puts our yellow-and-red-costumed hero firmly behind bars, gripping the cell door while a green-uniformed, mustachioed guard looms menacingly on either side. The tagline "Wie konnte es so weit kommen?" ("How did it come to this?") sets up the story "Captain Berlin hinter Gittern" with just the right amount of pulpy drama. Jörg Buttgereit's Berlin superhero series continues to deliver that retro charm in 2022, and this cliffhanger cover makes it hard not to flip straight to the first page.
