Jérôme K. Jérôme Bloche #28
Volume 28 of Dodier's long-running Franco-Belgian series brings the charming detective Jérôme K. Jérôme Bloche into a setting charged with ceremony and tension: the cover places a dark-haired woman in a blue trench coat — holding a knife at a lectern — at the foreground of what appears to be an official hall, where a bride in white, a sash-wearing dignitary, and a red-haired young man are gathered beneath a classical bust. The title Et pour le pire ("And for the Worse") nods pointedly at wedding vows gone sideways, and Dodier's clean, expressive ligne claire artwork gives the scene a quietly unsettling elegance. Published by Dupuis in 2022, this album is a fine entry point for newcomers and a welcome continuation for longtime fans of the series.
