Philippe Dupuy's J'aurais voulu faire de la bande dessinée ("I Would Have Liked to Make Comics"), published by Futuropolis in 2020, is a quietly striking work created in collaboration with musician Dominique A and pianist Stéphan Oliva. The cover sets a wonderfully offbeat tone: in a forest clearing framed by skeletal trees and an enormous looming bear-like creature, two reclining human figures share the space with a fox, a grand piano, scattered guitars, and a small accordion — instruments arranged as naturally as fallen leaves.
