Iznogouds missöden och äventyr #[nn]

This Swedish-language Iznogoud album from 1992 pairs Goscinny's sharp wit with Tabary's wonderfully expressive art for a tale teased right on the cover: a freckled blonde fairy in a pointed hat waves her wand (sparks flying!) over an enormously rotund, bejeweled figure sprawled across a heap of colorful cushions, while the scheming, sharp-nosed Iznogoud himself lurks gleefully in the corner. Tabary's cover linework crackles with comic energy, from the fairy's misfiring star-burst spell to Iznogoud's irrepressible grin — suggesting that whatever magic is on offer, it is very much not going according to plan. A delightful entry in the long-running series of the Grand Vizier who wants to be Caliph instead of the Caliph.
