That wide-open grin belongs to Muco, an oversized and utterly irresistible Shiba Inu who dominates the cover with her paws draped over a counter, clearly delighted about something — and her owner Komatsu-san, a stocky fellow in a pink tee and white headband, tends to business just behind her. Takayuki Mizushina's slice-of-life series captures the warm, everyday rhythms of a man and his dog with a visual charm that's hard to resist. Volume 2 of Lovely Muco! promises more of that cheerful, low-key energy that makes this Kodansha series such a pleasant read.
