Volume 5 of Delcourt's French edition of Irrécupérable — subtitled "Liberté" — arrives with a striking cosmic cover by Trevor Hairsine, depicting a red-suited figure standing tall against a vast starfield, a burning planet glowing ominously in the background, while an armored, mechanical-looking form looms large on the left. The contrast between the sleek, confident hero and that hulking, weathered opponent gives the image an immediate sense of tension suspended in the silence of space. A fine addition to this 2013 French-language run of Mark Waid's celebrated series.
