The second chapter of Brugeas and Toulhoat's medieval saga "Het deel van de duivel" opens with a striking image bathed in deep crimson — a vulnerable, bare-shouldered figure crouched low, blonde hair matted and head bowed in exhaustion or despair, while a towering armored warrior looms ominously behind them, sword at the ready. Toulhoat's cover work is raw and visceral, with the blood-red palette and the cross motif in the title design setting a tone of brutal faith and human suffering. Published by Dargaud in 2018, Ira Dei already feels like a series that earns its name — "Wrath of God" — through every carefully composed line.
