The cover of this Dark Horse series says everything you need to know about its tone: a massive, otherworldly boar-like creature looms out of a darkened forest, its face rendered in deep teals and greens, tendrils curling from its head like roots — or veins — while a tiny solitary figure stands dwarfed beneath it, bathed in an eerie luminescent glow. The scale contrast is genuinely unsettling, and the moody palette from Thompson, Sherman, and Campbell gives the whole image a mythic, almost hallucinatory weight.
