“I Fought for Love”

In "I Fought for Love," Nora faces a quiet storm of expectations when she becomes engaged to Sandy Larsen—someone who doesn’t match her ideal. As she tries to reshape him, from his habits to his job and even their living situation, the strain reveals more about her than about him. A heartfelt moment of clarity comes when she realizes her past isn’t the answer, and the story unfolds with gentle honesty, drawn with care by John Celardo.

Nora becomes engaged to Sandy Larsen, although he doesn’t fit the description of her “ideal man.” She tries to change his habits, dress, and even rents an apartment for them when Sandy insists he wants to live in a house. She also tries to get him reassigned to an office job in the factory where he works, although he enjoys his current job. Sandy walks out on her and Nora calls up her former boyfriend Phil, but she discovers he’s no longer attractive to her. Nora apologizes to Sandy for trying to change him and they reconcile.
