A young woman sets out to cross the Red Desert, guided only by a map and her wits, while a cactus on Reunion Island stands silent in the sun, and a forgotten sultan’s name echoes through history — each moment a thread in a world where the ordinary holds unexpected stories.

In "The Phantom is Blinded," the 16th Phantom faces a dangerous duo of escaped convicts and their pirate allies in the Wambesi jungle, only to be struck blind by a sudden flare. Though he can no longer see, he relies on the courage of Hero and Devil to outwit the criminals, sabotaging their boat and alerting the Jungle Patrol. With the help of the Bandar, he escapes to Dr. Axel, seeking a cure, while still directing Guran to send a message to the Jungle Patrol about the pirates’ whereabouts.

Henry’s quick dash from the candy store takes an unexpected turn when a boy spots him and gives chase, scaling a passing man like a jungle gym to stay close. Just as Henry thinks he’s lost his pursuer, he bumps into a girl who walks off with the bag of candy, leaving him and the boy sitting dejectedly on the curb.
