"Little Eagle and the Bird of Thunder" tells of a young Indian brave who possesses a magical secret and must save his tribe from massacre and prevent greedy outsiders from exploiting the magic under the guidance of old Chief Red Cloud; the story also involves Magic Arrow, a famous Indian, who is jailed but discovers the militia and Chicasaws are disguised as Senecas, and he learns of a planned revolt by Chief Thunder Cloud against the settlement.
