"The Warrior and Sacrifice to the Morning Star" tells of a captive maiden brought before a tribe for ritual sacrifice at dawn. A warrior uses his wits to free her by secretly loosening a rope tied to a peg inside the tepee, allowing them to escape under cover of darkness. Their flight is complicated when a coral snake strikes during their flight, but they manage to reach a cliff where the warrior defeats a shaman in combat, ultimately rescuing the maiden and thwarting the sacrifice ceremony.
