Joe Palooka presents two Humphrey stories in this issue. In the first story, Humphrey arrives late to meet his girlfriend Pruneyface and encounters Miss Blabbermouth and her brother Tattlemouth, leading to comedic mishaps at their home. In the second story, titled "County Fair," Humphrey attends a county fair where he struggles to manage his appetite despite limited food, ultimately becomes weak from hunger and competes in a strength contest by ringing a bell. The stories conclude with Humphrey befriending a bear at the fair and becoming an honorary member of the Humphrey Fan Club.
