Humphrey Comics #3

Ham Fisher's cover for this 1949 Harvey humor comic says it all: a rotund, bee-striped Humphrey has gotten himself thoroughly tangled in a ship's anchor chain, dangling soaking wet over the water while an exasperated crewman hollers "Hey, let go!" — a perfectly absurd snapshot of the lovable chaos that awaits inside. Joe Palooka himself lends his name to introduce the fun, with his grinning face peering down from the corner alongside a pal.
