Hulk #4
The tagline says it all — "Panic in the Sky!" — as Ron Garney and Dan Green's cover puts the Hulk atop a commercial airliner in high-altitude peril, his massive green fist raised while startled figures peer out from the cockpit windows below. It's a wonderfully kinetic image that perfectly sets the stage for John Byrne's story "Turbulence," promising a collision between unstoppable gamma-powered rage and a very bad day for air travel. Marvel's 1999 series continues to deliver fresh, high-concept scenarios for the jade giant, and this issue looks like one of its most viscerally exciting entries yet.
