Hulk #3
This French collection from Arédit-Artima reprints classic Hulk stories from the 1980s, featuring the Green Goliath's adventures in the land of immortals. Part of the publisher's 'Color' series, it presents these tales in a full-color album format for European readers.
In "Au pays des immortels," the Hulk is dragged to Asgard by Loki to battle the realm’s warriors, including the Warriors Three. Though caught in a clash of thunder and might, a fleeting moment of clarity reveals the truth: the Hulk is no true foe, and the Warriors Three choose not to destroy him. Enraged, Loki casts the Hulk into a bottomless pit—where he now lies, trapped in the heart of a myth.
In "La sentence d'Odin," Bruce Banner’s descent into a bottomless pit is halted when the Enchantress pulls him back to Midgard, setting off a chain of events that brings the Hulk into the heart of Asgardian conflict. With the Warriors Three seeking answers from Oldar the Oracle and the Executioner already wary of the Hulk’s power, the jade giant’s arrival proves pivotal—just as a troll army marches on Asgard. Though he earns the respect of Odin’s forces through his strength, the Hulk’s unpredictable nature still provokes the All-Father’s wrath, leading to a final, decisive send-off back to Earth.
In "Le parasite attaque !", the Hulk finds himself targeted by an intergalactic Space Parasite drawn to Earth by a TV broadcast about his powers. The creature plans to drain the Hulk’s strength to fuel a conquest across the stars, but the battle takes an unexpected turn when the Parasite’s own people intervene—recognizing him as a threat and destroying his ship. Left vulnerable, the Hulk is subdued by New York’s police, who gassed him into submission.
In "Rhino revient !", the Rhino returns with a vengeance, his new suit promising greater power as he targets a weakened Hulk still reeling from captivity. With Banner imprisoned at Sing-Sing and General Ross in transit, the Hulk must rise once more—though his strength is dulled, his rage is not. When the battle ends, the Hulk makes a sudden, reckless decision, seizing Betty from her father in a moment that blurs fury with longing.
In "Le monstre brûlant," a wounded Bruce Banner, pursued through New York with Betty in peril, faces a new threat when the Missing Link—a creature born from a U.S. nuclear test and seized by the Chinese—arrives in the city. With Mr. Fantastic’s help, Talbot deploys a device designed by Banner to subdue the Hulk, unaware that the real danger is just beginning.
