In the aftermath of a devastating encounter on Counter-Earth, Bruce Banner returns to Earth only to be ambushed by Thunderbolt Ross, whose shuttle destroys his vessel. With the Hulkbusters deployed to capture the Hulk, they instead bring back the Abomination, who is offered a cure and freedom in exchange for hunting down the Hulk. As the two titans clash, the Abomination delivers a shocking revelation: Betty has married Glenn and is on her honeymoon in Niagara Falls.

In the frozen silence of a remote Canadian wilderness, the Hulk stumbles upon a secluded cabin where Hank McCoy is struggling to stabilize the Mimic, whose powers are spiraling dangerously out of control. Tensions flare as the two heroes clash, leading to a desperate moment when the Mimic absorbs the Hulk’s gamma radiation—ending his life in the process. The Hulk, now restored, departs into the snow-covered woods, leaving behind a quiet aftermath of loss and unresolved tension.
