“Timepoint”

The cover of Hourman #3 (June 1999) is a striking visual puzzle — multiple versions of Hourman in his bold yellow-and-red costume tumble through a massive infinity-loop shaped timestream, while a colossal, shadowy stone face looms ominously in the background. The tagline "Trapped in the Timepoint!" captures the temporal disorientation perfectly, and Scott McDaniel's pencils (inked by John Dell) give the whole scene a kinetic, almost dizzying energy. Tom Peyer, Rags Morales, and David Meikis were crafting something genuinely imaginative with this series, and this issue's cover makes a compelling case for diving in.
