Hot Stuff, the Little Devil #46

Harvey Comics' pint-sized red devil is in full panic mode on this April 1962 cover, tumbling through the air as a string of exploding firecrackers goes off right beneath his hooves — his little pitchfork flying off in one direction and his expression doing all the talking. Peeking out nervously from behind a tree is a wide-eyed onlooker in a purple outfit, clearly wanting no part of whatever Hot Stuff accidentally set off. It's a perfectly charming snapshot of the mischief and mayhem that made Harvey Comics such a delight for young readers in the early 1960s.
