After another crash on the track Clint pulls the helpless Leif from a burning wreck. Still incensed at the mistaken idea that Clint wrecked him deliberately, Leif assaults Clint, beating him unconscious and having to be restrained by the crowd. Once the governing board formally exonerates Clint and suspends Leif, Leif tries to force Clint off the highway and over a cliff, only to meet death himself.
