Ryu Fujisaki's Hoshin Engi Volume 8 from Viz puts the spotlight squarely on its confident young hero, posed front and center in torn jeans, battle armor, and boots, a glowing staff at his side and a bright orange armband catching the eye. Fujisaki's clean, energetic linework gives the cover real presence, capturing the blend of ancient myth and shonen action that makes this series such a compelling read. A solid entry in one of Shonen Jump's more ambitious fantasy epics.
