Horologiom #5

The fifth chapter of Fabrice Lebeault's Horologiom series arrives with "Das grosse Räderwerk," and the cover sets a wonderfully dramatic tone: a caped, masked figure in dark red and black looms atop a tall pole against a moody blue sky, while a smaller, acrobatically posed character dangles from a peculiar mechanical device below. Lebeault's cover linework captures a real sense of vertiginous tension between these two figures, the billowing cape of the towering presence contrasting beautifully with the almost playful posture of the one clinging to the strange contraption. Published by Finix Comics in 2010, this German-language volume is a striking entry in what looks to be a vividly stylized fantasy series.
