Horace, ô désespoir #[nn]
From Fluide Glacial and creator Madaule comes this sharp, affectionate slice of family comedy. The cover sets the tone perfectly: a bearded, wide-eyed father and a pink-haired kid sit together at a table while a red-haired figure — presumably the mother — stands nearby, hand to face in exasperation, as the kid delivers the deadpan zinger, "If you hadn't slacked off during your adolescence… I could have been the son of someone important." It's the kind of casually brutal family humor that Fluide Glacial does so well, and Madaule's loose, expressive cartooning gives every character just enough bug-eyed bewilderment to make the joke land beautifully.
