7 pp · Western-Frontier

When a drifter looking for work arrives at Mister Frick's ranch, a scheming killer uses him as the perfect patsy for a murder he's about to commit—banking on the young man's innocence to pin the crime on him while he escapes town. Hopalong Cassidy arrives at the scene to find the accused at the safe, but a clever bit of detective work—examining boot prints and paint evidence—puts him on the real culprit's trail before justice can be twisted. "The Mark of Guilt" is a taut seven-page western mystery where one sharp lawman's attention to detail unravels a calculated frame-up.
