“The Dangerous Stunts of Hopalong Cassidy!”

Two identical men in green suits grapple with each other while Hopalong Cassidy — the silver-haired, gun-drawn cowboy starring William Boyd — watches warily from the foreground, unable to tell the bank teller from the real bandit. The cover art by Gene Colan (pencils) and Joe Giella (inks) perfectly captures that classic Western dilemma of mistaken identity against a dusty canyon backdrop, with the speech balloons doing a great job of pulling you right into the tension. Issue #110 also features "Secret of the Roaring Cave," making this February 1956 entry a fine showcase for "America's Favorite Cowboy" in all-new stories.
