Hitomi #2

The second issue of Image Comics' Hitomi opens with a breathtaking cover by Valentina Napolitano: a snarling, smoke-wreathed wolf creature lunges downward through a field of golden sunflowers, its jaws wide and eyes burning red, while a small figure in a vivid red-and-orange patterned garment stands below, seemingly unfazed. The contrast between the delicate floral setting and the ferocious supernatural beast gives the composition a haunting, folklore-tinged tension that's hard to look away from. HS Tak and Isabella Mazzanti's series is clearly leaning into something wild and richly atmospheric with this second chapter.
