Part five of "Tommy's Heroes" arrives in this 1999 DC series, and John McCrea's cover sets the tone perfectly — a ragged squad of soldiers blazes away from atop a rumbling tank, surrounded by fire, smoke, and debris, with skulls scattered ominously in the foreground. The energy is chaotic and purposeful all at once, capturing the gritty, darkly comic spirit that Garth Ennis brings to this Gotham-set series. If you've been following Tommy and his crew through this arc, this issue looks like the kind of conclusion that earns its title.
