In "Vor den Toren wartet der Tod," Namor, imprisoned by the new ruler of Atlantis, Byrrah, endures the trials of Inferno Isle, where he confronts a monstrous force of fire and lava. Back in the underwater city, Dorma uncovers Byrrah’s hypnosis machine and uses it to rally the Atlanteans to Namor’s cause, turning the tide against the usurper. As Attuma and Krang, disillusioned by Byrrah’s weakness, prepare to destroy Atlantis with their weapon, Namor returns in time to shatter the machine and face his enemies head-on.
