"Egbert and the Count" follows a hapless man kicked out of a hotel who encounters a wealthy count and becomes entangled in the count's misfortunes, including being thrown from a post coach. A separate story features a sailor who journeys inland to a remote place and becomes involved in an adventure at a hacienda, where he encounters armed conflict between rival factions, including a character named Rosita and a man named Don Manuel.
In "The Witch's Curse," Kid Eternity journeys back to 1636 to confront a centuries-old enchantment tied to a forgotten witch’s wrath. With the help of Mr. Keeper and the enigmatic Atlas, he must unravel the mystery before the curse claims another victim—while Richard Stanley, Judge Richard Stanley, and Sarah Abel find themselves caught in the web of a past they never knew.
A broke chicken named Egbert stumbles into a mad scientist's laboratory, where he's forced to drink an invisibility serum and blackmailed into becoming a criminal accomplice. When the famed criminologist Nero Owl crashes the scene with a gun, Egbert must navigate invisible chaos and double-crosses to outwit everyone involved and save the day.
When Archie Pigface opens the swanky Yip Yip Club, a familiar face shows up looking for work—Her Highness, who's decided a cigarette girl's job is the perfect cover for a con. Her scheme to fleece wealthy patrons with a fake "family heirloom" ring hits a snag when jewel thieves and a sharp-eyed detective named Mike Barnacle all converge on the club during opening night. What unfolds is a wild night of switched identities, flying fists, and stolen goods that leaves everyone's plans in tatters.
Betty Bates, a sharp-minded lawyer, gets pulled into a dangerous game when gangster Red Skoras tries to hire her and she stumbles onto his rival Basil Wulff—who claims a mysterious talisman saved him from an assassination attempt. As Betty digs deeper into what smells like a con, she uncovers a scheme that could trap a wealthy, superstitious mark into paying half a million dollars for a worthless charm. With her reputation on the line and criminals closing in, Betty has to outthink everyone involved before the real danger catches up.
