HIP Comics #19112
In "Duizend jaar," Mr. Jordan is offered a strange deal by a shadowy figure known only as De Duivel: freedom and a thousand years of life in exchange for his name on a contract. After signing, he awakens in a rocket hurtling into space, untouched by time, hunger, or thirst—condemned to a solitary journey across the stars for a millennium.
In "De man van steen," the old man Dralla pleads with the statue of a long-dead hero, hoping for aid for the village’s poor. When the statue answers by granting a miracle, greed takes hold among his neighbors, who steal his share of the gift. The statue, awakened by faith and betrayal, moves to right the wrongs of the village—and takes Dralla with it, on a journey beyond the earth.
