Hickory #6

Hickory helps her parents fire a cannon during a Fourth of July celebration, but the explosion destroys Plymouth Rock. To cover up the damage, the family carves a replacement rock. Later, Hickory's father asks her to pose for a photograph with a handsome pitcher named Ashton, hoping to arrange a match, but when the boy tries to kiss her, Hickory hits him and they end up in a scuffle. After being knocked into a truck, Hickory is taken to the city where she meets a refined lady who attempts to teach her proper deportment and manners, instructing her that boys will respect and admire girls who are well-behaved and studious, though Hickory struggles with the lessons.
