The ninth volume of Het Narrenschip arrives with one of its most delightfully absurd covers yet — two figures in dashing red-and-white military dress uniforms stride purposefully through a wintry landscape, completely surrounded by an encroaching horde of turkeys, while a grand castle looms in the pale background. Turf's artwork balances whimsy and unease with real elegance, making "De Kalkoeninvasie" feel both playful and genuinely unsettling. Fans of the series will find this 2023 entry from Daedalus every bit as charmingly strange as the title promises.
