Published by Le Lombard in 2014, this second volume of Heroveringen — subtitled "De hinderlaag van de Hittieten" (The Ambush of the Hittites) — promises ancient-world adventure steeped in Bronze Age tension. François Miville-Deschênes's cover art is immediately arresting: atop a massive war elephant, a muscular warrior draws his bow at full stretch while a woman in a golden dress crouches steadily at his side, both figures radiating fierce composure against a vivid blue sky. With Sylvain Runberg co-writing alongside Miville-Deschênes, who also handles pencils, inks, and colors throughout, this is a handsomely unified artistic vision that fans of historical action comics will want on their shelves.
