Hercules #4
The final chapter of Bob Layton's four-issue limited series arrives with striking urgency — a massive, horned, axe-wielding figure looms over a battered, white-haired Hercules collapsed at his feet, all set against an inky black void that makes the magenta-tinged threat feel overwhelming. The tagline "Godhood's End!" says everything about the stakes as this 1984 series reaches its conclusion with "A Pearl of Great Price!" It's a genuinely gripping cover image that captures Hercules at his most vulnerable, making this a satisfying close to one of Marvel's more ambitious solo outings for the Prince of Power.
