Hercules #3

Issue three of this Marvel limited series finds the Lion of Olympus in a tight spot — the cover tagline says it all: "In like the Lion of Olympus! Out like a sacrificial lamb!" Bob Layton's cover art places a defiant, barrel-chested Hercules center stage in some kind of futuristic mechanical corridor, fists raised and bracers gleaming, while shadowy figures in red close in from both sides to grab his arms. The image captures that enjoyable push-and-pull between godly confidence and genuine peril that makes this sci-fi spin on the Prince of Power so much fun.
