This first volume of the Helmout series collects the early adventures of the titular young Viking boy, originally serialized in the pages of the French children's magazine Pif Gadget. The stories, presented in a humorous comic-strip format, follow Helmout's daily mishaps and misadventures in his Viking village, often with a playful twist on historical tropes. Published by Bayard Presse, this 2014 collection brings together the strips from the series' initial run.
