Hello Buddies #52
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeHello Buddies #52 delivers exactly what it promises — cartoons, jokes, and fun — with a cover gag that sets the tone perfectly: a grinning office fellow clutches a telephone while a red-dressed young woman wraps herself around him, his speech bubble cheerfully declaring "Sorry, dear, but I'm up to my neck in work!" A tiny pin-up figure in the upper corner adds an extra wink to the playful mood. Packed with gags and cartoons from "America's Leading Cartoonists," this 1951 Harvey humor digest is a charming snapshot of mid-century comic comedy at its most lighthearted.

Lucia loves fellow high school student Dick, but she is ashamed of her Italian immigrant parents. When Dick meets them, Tina thinks he must consider them “poor, stupid foreigners” and breaks up with him. Her friends think Tina believes they’re not good enough to meet her family. After she sees how popular her father is with his fellow workers despite being an immigrant, Tina throws a party at her house to apologise to her friends. Dick shows up and they reconcile.
