In the past, John's mother dies giving birth to him. As a boy, Constantine and his friends Billy and Aisha are involved in an incident that results in the death of Billy. In the present, as dead angels are appearing on Earth, Constantine reunites with Aisha, who is now a police detective, when he has a sighting of their dead friend Billy.
