Heksenkind #[1]

Adapted from Pierre Bottero's novel, Heksenkind arrives in 2023 from Daedalus as a richly atmospheric Belgian comic with art by Stedho, whose cover sets an immediately compelling tone. Two children — a spiky-haired boy clutching a young dark-haired girl protectively — huddle together in a shadowy, cluttered space filled with strange ceramic figures, while an enormous sinister bird looms over them from above. It's a cover that balances childhood vulnerability with genuine menace, making "Deel 1" a very promising start to this fantasy adaptation.
